Gravity light set to illuminate the developing world
‘Gravity-powered lamps’ offer ray of hope
Over time the designers say that eliminating the need for kerosene — which can absorb 10 to 20 percent of a household’s income — has the potential to lift people out of poverty, as well as help prevent illness and injuries associated with traditional lamps.
This gravity-powered lamp was invented by London-based designers as an answer for the estimated 1.5 billion people worldwide that have no access to electricity.
